How To Apply For Funds

  • Charities

Global Charities is a grant-giving registered charity and awards grants within the local area where our radio stations broadcast.
The grants are awarded in different ways; through our small grants programme (up to £5,000), major grants (up to £100,000) and through partnerships with national charities which deliver locally within the transmission areas of our stations.  The current charity appeals are Capital FM’s ‘Help a Capital Child’; LBC’s ‘Help a London Child’; Heart’s ‘Have a Heart’ and Classic FM’s ‘The Classic FM Foundation’.

Two of our charity appeals Help a Capital Child & Help a London Child have open grant rounds, for voluntary organisations & charities in the Greater London area. Click here for more information. We attempt to fund as many eligible applications as possible, although this is always limited to the funds raised in the year.
Application forms are reviewed and updated by an independent grants panel in conjunction with the overall Board of Trustees to ensure the application process is as accessible as possible and to ensure applicants are guided though our funding criteria. Groups that are successful with their applications are required to complete a Project Report Form and provide receipts to show how the grant money has been spent.
Global Charities also awards major grants to fund specific applications from registered charities with which we feel we can work with to achieve lasting impact on the community they support.  Key to their success is the need to ensure the project is sustainable and promotes mutual benefit to the charity and our objectives.

Two of our charity appeals currently award a grant to their respective charity partners - Have a Heart , supporting Children’s Hospices UK, and The Classic FM Foundation supporting Nordoff Robbins.
We are always keen to hear ideas from charities and corporate partners on how we could work together to develop partnerships and as guidance we have included examples of these in the How to Support Us  section.
