The Global Travel Breakfast 2011
Global Radio held a 2nd successful Travel Breakfast at Royal Festival Hall on the 20th of May.
The event was attended by over 40 travel clients and media agency employees. The key topic for discussion was how you can maintain trust and reputation for your brand in a crisis situation. This is a key issue facing the majority of travel brands in an industry which is constantly challenged with political unrest, natural disasters and company closures.
Driving the discussion was Richard Carrick: President of CIMTIG
Our panel of experts was made up of:
- Christian Cull: TUI
- Moncef Battikh: Tunisian National Tourist Office
- Simon Calder: LBC presenter
- Stephen Cheliotis: Chairman of the Coolbrands/ Superbrands Council
Topics such as what are the drivers of consumer demand in the current climate for travel, are communications messages changing in order to engender trust, how does price influence consumer behaviour were all touched upon

The Global Travel Breakfast 2010
Amidst an interesting time in the world of travel, a successful Global Travel Breakfast with Simon Calder was held at Altitude 360 in London on the 28th May 2010.
The event was well attended by over 50 travel clients and media agency employees, all of whom gathered over coffee and breakfast canapes to quiz Simon and discuss the world of travel.
Topics such as the influence of the recent ash cloud on air travel, the effects of a new government on the industry, and the mindset of consumers were all touched upon - with Simon leading the debate and answering questions from the group.
All attendees also had the opportunity to gain a further insight from Simon about what exactly his listeners ? real travel consumers ? had been calling into his show to air their views on, giving a valuable insight into the mood of ?coal face travellers? for clients and agencies alike.
Finally, bespoke travel research which had been undertaken across the whole Global Network was touched upon, giving yet more learnings into the world of roaming Global listeners.
