Ellie Goulding

It is safe to say that Ellie has been one of the most talked about, written about and listened to, artists of 2010. This Hereford-born singer has a truly unique voice and style, writes her own material and has single handedly spurred a new genre that music journos are naming 'folk-tronica.'

Ellie signed to Polydor last year and continued her album with her chief collaborator, producer Starsmith.
She has also written songs for Diana Vickers and has also written a song for Gabriella Climi’s next album.

Testament to Ellie's talent , she was awarded this years' Brits Critics' Choice Award. The predecessors of this accolade include Florence And The Machine and Adele who are now both household names and whose debut albums were critically acclaimed.

Ellie has also won the prestigious title of the BBC’s Sound of 2010. The longlist of 15 of the hottest new artists including Delphic, The Drums and Marina and the Diamonds was compiled by the UK’s top music critics and broadcasters, with Ellie being announced as the overall winner in January. Ellie has been cited as the-one-to-watch in The Evening Standard, NME, ES magazine and is being supported as one of MTV’s Top 10 for 2010. It looks like 2010 is going to be Ellie’s year!

'Under the Sheets' was released in November through New York hipster label, Neon Gold. Despite being released on an indie label, the tune got plenty of radio play and the video was 4Music's VIP video of the week.
 
‘Starry Eyed’ was released through Polydor on February 22nd, debuting at number 4 in the official singles chart!

Her album 'Lights' was released the following week and shot straight to number 1 in the official Albums chart, an amazing but not unexpected achievement.

Ellie embarked on her UK solo tour on March 25th after supporting American hipsters, Passion Pit on their UK tour.

'Guns and Horses' Ellie's third single from the album went in the top 40.
